Install software from the zip file
I had the same experience as CNW. After much frustration trying to get the device to communicate with the software that I installed from the CD, I found the version in the downloadable zip file here to work fine. The Win10 drivers on the CD were correct, though.

Nice product, but Install from the zip file, not the CD
This is a neat product once you have it working. I had unnecessary frustration in that the CD supplied was for versions with different numbers, B1144 and B1248 to be specific. Since the documentation on the CD was for similar devices to the 33038, I assumed it would work with the 33038 version as well. WRONG. As directed by the MPJA instructions for the device, I dutifully installed the software and drivers from the CD on my Win7 system, although a bit puzzled by the product number mismatch. Since the software ran successfully and the devices own display showed it in edit mode I assumed all was golden. OOPS! The software failed to find the device, seemingly expecting a USB serial converter. After messing around a bit ... reboot, reinstall, running as administrator, poking around in device manager, etc.... I went to the MPJA site, found an unidentified zip file there along with the data sheet, so downloaded and unpacked it. Voila, it was the software presented on the data sheet. I dont know if you need the USB driver supplied on CD since I installed the CDs stuff before plugging in the device, but its now working as advertised, although it seems to be limited to 5 characters at a time, not 6. 5 stars for the device, 3 stars for packaging that included a CD with the wrong software.

In the write up we do state only windows OS systems. I personal use Window 7 with no problems but thank you for confirming Windows 10 does work. MPJA Inc

you must have windows 10
After trying every machine only a new windows-10-pro system would run the software. If you use Linux or Mac NONE of the emulators will run the program. Even VMware with windows 7 installed did not run it successfully. It would help if the protocol to talk to it was available so a alternate program could be written.

Great for Shows | ||
I took this to the Great American Trucking Show in Dallas in August, 2017, where I was an attendee. It was a great hit! I gave several people manning booths information on where to purchase one like mine -- mpja.com!

Great Holiday Gift | ||
Follow the simple instructions and it works great on Win10. So many options to try so you can have hours of fun. The enclosed software can be copied to computer HD and run...Note the program works very well and is not actually installed hence little chance for conflict. Good way to keep independent record of passwords.

Scrolling LED name tags
Units work as advertised. Very good for teaching children memory verses. Only tried on windows 8 system and would get an error when saving but the display still programmed fine and the software works.

Nice nametag for Hamfests or Ham meetings.
Easy to use. Software works on Windows 10. Instructions on using GIFs should be included. Not to distract but the gifs are just a little icing on the cake. Dont need them for nametags...
